Another Opportunity to Hike Ahuimanu

Image
Ahuimanu + Waterfall Chute - June 12, 2016 I haven't done Ahuimanu in like forever, 5 years or so. David invited OAG's and I took the opportunity to not only go, but have Jared tag along with me.  We met at 8:30am on Hui Kelu Street. Joining the hike today was DJ, Daniel, Alaina, Bernice, Darren, Jana and her two friends. We haven't seen Alaina in forever, she has been taking care of her parents until her dad passed a away a little away go. But her mom still has dementia, so she has been very busy with her parents.  One interesting thing about this hike are the taro complexes. It was good discussion, really good.  We headed up the Olympus trail at a somewhat faster pace. However, at each helipad, we talked story. I mean a lot of story. Not seeing each other for a while, yielded many things to talk about. We finally summited Olympus past 12pm. It took us over 3 hours to summit. Darren and I waited like 15 minutes for Bernice and Sarah to make their way. They took so long, so we went to look for them. They were talking...
