Hiking Trails on Oahu

Luluku Trail Clearing - August 13, 2017 Baron wanted to clear the stream that led to the Luluku Terraces. I told him it would be very difficult and may take a whole day. We projected an entire day and told everyone. He was game and so were the OAG's. Joining the hike today was Baron, Erik, Darren, David, Michelle, Bernice and I. The OG -- OAG's. We met at Hoomaluhia at 9am, but it took us 15 minutes to get ready to start.  We headed towards Luluku stream and encountered the hau. The newbies like Bernice and Michelle were like woah. We chipped away. There was surprisingly not that much hau. After about 1.5 hours of clearing, we got to the private taro fields and the tunnel. I thought it was over and this is what confused all of us. We had a lot more to go. I forgot that we had to go under both the H3 and Likelike. I even think DJ and Baron who joined me on the two previous clearings forgot too.  From the tunnel, we were under the H3 and took a wrong turn and had to bushwhack....

Luluku Chutes - November 8, 2016 Baron wanted to explore and find the chutes way back in Luluku Valley a.k.a. Hoomaluhia. Today was election day, where we would soon find out who would be a 45th president of the United States, Trump or Clinton.  I voted for Hillary at 7 in the morning, it took a 1/2 hour to vote. (You know everyone in Mililani goes to an event 45 minutes before it starts). I went home and got ready to pick up Baron at his house. Today it would only be me and Baron. Nobody wants to do the hard work of trying to explore and track everything.  I parked at the visitors center and we were off. Bushwhacking was on the agenda. We would start off on the HTMC route when they hike Hoomaluhia-Likeke. Sooner than later, we made the right towards a water tank and tried to find our way to Luluku. There was no trail, but we paralleled the freeway through a nice forest until we got to Luluku. It took about 1 hour, but from the banana patches we further progressed up the mount...
