The Oneawa Hills without the Teal Blue Lake

Oneawa Hills - January 21, 2017

Michelle wanted to see the teal lake. I put an invite to the OAG's to do the Oneawa Hills.

Joining me today was Daniel, David, Darren, Erik, Aprille, Jana, Michelle and I. We met at the Friendship Garden's trailhead at 8:30am. Parking is limited, but we found a spot near the trailhead.

Oahu was under a wind advisory today, so it was windy. The wind was played second fiddle because Kaneohe was receiving a lot of rain last evening and it continued throughout the day. We hiked up the Friendship Garden trail to Kokokahi Ridge in the pouring rain. The hike was easy I thought.

In a little more than 1 hour we hit the lake. The lake was an ugly blue-green color. Michelle was not happy. I told her can't have everything. I'm not sure why the lake was that color, usually it is teal.

We still had fun at the lookout just enjoying nature. We decided to go back the way we came. Michelle had some problems going down the hill as she fell a couple of times because of the mud.

It took only about 1 hour to get out. PHM was at Masa & Joyce. It was so cold today. Michelle's been knocking the hikes out one by one.
